KAT-TUN Takes Over Tokyo Dome for a Week

This May, KAT-TUN will become the first artists to perform on seven consecutive nights at the Tokyo Dome. The current longest streak is four nights, achieved by KAT-TUN last year and by British rocker Sting in 1988.

The concerts will be held on May 15-21. Preparations and rehearsals are scheduled to start four days before the shows, which means that KAT-TUN will be taking over Tokyo Dome for 11 days while the Yomiuri Giants are on the road. 385,000 fans are expected to attend the concerts.

Johnny's Jimusho began discussing the possibility of an extended Tokyo Dome run more than two years ago. Tokyo Dome staff contacted Johnny's Jimusho about the opening around early December, after the Giants' schedule was finalized.

Kazuya Kamenashi Leads 'Kami no Shizuku' Drama Adaptation

Next season, NTV is airing a live-action drama based on Tadashi Agi's popular wine-themed manga "Kami no Shizuku." The drama series will star KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi in his first salaryman role.

The original manga is currently running in Kodansha's Weekly Morning magazine. The story revolves around a young man whose father, a world-famous wine critic, suddenly dies. In order to take over his father's vast wine collection, he must face off against his adopted brother in a contest to find specific wines, even though he originally has no knowledge of wines.

"Kami no Shizuku" will run in NTV's Tuesday 10:00pm time slot, starting in January.

KAT-TUN recently released their seventh single, "Don't U Ever Stop," on 14 May 08, which topped the weekly Oricon chart in its first week with a total of 381,672 copies sold. Along with LIPS, KAT-TUN holds the records for the two highest first-week sales in 2008. The single's sales included three limited editions, each with two solo songs from two members. First limited edition contain solos from Kamenashi and Taguchi, the second with Akanishi and Tanaka, and the last with Ueda and Nakamaru. The regular edition also contains each of the members' solo songs.

Their official first performance of this song was on 25 April 08 on Music Station Live, with their solo performances on 15 May on Music Station as well. During the MC segment of the same broadcasting, Kamenashi announced that two more days were added to their Tokyo Dome concerts for their 2008 tour, resulting in a total of four consecutive days in the Dome, Japan's most popular stadium. This marks a historic event in the Dome's history, which has been established since 1988, as KAT-TUN is the first artist to hold four consecutive days at the stadium. I am gonna grab a copy of this. ;)

KAT-TUN released their sixth single LIPS on 6 February as the theme song to dearie Kazuya's drama 1 Pound Gospel. The single peaked at #1 on the Oricon Charts.On 30 March 08, it was announced that KAT-TUN will hold their third nationwide tour.On 22 April 08, it was announced that KAT-TUN will release their third album, KAT-TUN III Queen of Pirates on June 4, 2008.As per usual, the release includes a regular and limited edition. Though the limited edition features four extra songs and is released with a DVD including an extended version of the "Don't U Ever Stop" PV, lasting an eight-minute duration, the regular edition includes a 24-page picture booklet.

Completed yet another great drama, 1 Pound no Fukuin (1 ポンドの福音) by dearest Kamenashi Kazuya & he is really kawaii in this Jdorama. ;)Kosaku Hatanaka (Kamenashi Kazuya) is a skilled boxer who turned pro at the age of 19, but he finds himself facing a string of defeats due to his inability to control his appetite, which always puts him in a heavier weight class. Synopsis:

Minami Fuji (Itoh Misaki) is riding a train along Tokyo Bay. Weary from a day's work, she falls asleep while on the train. Her nap time is obstructed by the sound of somebody's cell phone ringing. She opens her eyes to see the phone lying unattended on a nearby seat. Reluctantly, she answers the phone. It's a man claiming to have dropped his phone. He wants Minami to deliver it to him before his job interview begins. However, since Minami too has a meeting she must attend, she takes the phone to the lost and found department of a nearby station.On her way to work, Minami spots an old commercial being shown on a big-screen TV. She immediately takes a picture of it with her camera. That is when she realizes that someone else is also absorbed in the commercial. It's Yuya Ishida (Kamenashi Kazuya), the young man who called to have his cell phone delivered. Kyotaro Imaoka, creative director of an advertisement agency, is having a meeting at an insurance company with Kunio Sakuragi and Satoshi Hagiwara. Minami soon joins the meeting. They have come to give a presentation for the new TV commercial for their company.Meanwhile, Yuya has arrived at the place where he will have his interview. He is immediately given a tour of the office as well as a lecture on commercial planning. He has no idea that Minami has returned to the office and is having a meeting with Kyotaro and the others. Later on, Yuya delivers mail to Minami. At first, she doesn't even look up at him. But when she does, it only takes 15 seconds(the same length as a television commercial) for Minami to realize that she had ran into Yuya while watching the commercial on the big-screen TV, and it was also his cell phone that she picked up on the train.

たったひとつの恋 (Tatta Hitotsu no Koi), a story of pure love between the son of a man who runs a ship repair factory beset with financial troubles and the well-bred daughter of a national jewellery chain store owner. The backdrop of the story is at Yokohama, a modern port city known for its romantic atmosphere. I want to go Japan!!!Jdorama is always the best & this drama is really worth watching! The opening theme song for this drama, 'Bokura No Machi De' (which means in our town) is really nice! I love this song by Kat-Tun, especially the part sang by Kamenashi Kazuya. ;)The lead actor, Kamenashi Kazuya (亀梨和也) (member of Jpop grp KAT-TUN) is darn pretty! He is prettier than the lead actress Haruka Ayase. OMG!!! His complexion is so darn good. Kame-Kun kawaii! But then again, for a 21 years old young man, his acting skill is considered excellent. ;) Debuted groups under Johnny & Accociates, e.g. Smap, Arashi, Tokio, Tackey & Tsubasa, etc are great actors & singers.
